A Manchester company which has developed a unique application to track the success of online and offline advertising campaigns has scooped Best Newcomer at the prestigious Big Chip Awards.

AdInsight Ltd, which is based at Manchester Science Park, won the award for its advanced call tracking solution, also branded AdInsight, which allows businesses to track individual advertising campaigns through to a lead or sale as well as inject that information into a web analytics platform such as the renowned Google Analytics.

The Best Newcomer Award, a new category in the 2009 Big Chip Awards, is aimed at recognising young enterprises, which show particular promise of becoming successful.

Commenting on AdInsight, the judges said: “Closing the loop between online and offline conversion is one of the key challenges facing advertisers as digital media grows in importance.

“The winner here tackles this problem in a way accessible to both advertisers and media agencies alike and the judges said they’re looking forward to further innovation in this space from the company behind it.”

AdInsight Ltd was formed in October 2008 by entrepreneurs, Richard Hamnett (26) and Ross Fobian (24) with the aim of turning their powerful call tracking solution into the market leader.

“It is an honour to have won the award,” commented Ross. “It has been a real vote of confidence for a young, innovative company such as ours to have been recognised by leaders in the digital arena.”

Company Directors, Ross and Richard, have big plans for AdInsight; they are continuing to look at new ways to further enhance the system’s call tracking and reporting capabilities and are aiming to expand into the US market next year.

Ross explained: “We always planned on expanding into other markets; however the US call tracking market is the most developed, with the largest customer base, so success in this market would be fantastic for us.”
