Established by four-time Olympian Diane Modahl, the Foundation aims to break down barriers to providing young people with access to sporting opportunities. These barriers can range from lack of access to good sports facilities to problems with self-confidence

Diane and the Foundation believe that sports can provide inspiration, encourage aspiration, improve health and fitness and support social inclusion.  Diane and the coaches work with participants to foster determination, motivation, self belief, with the aim of improving life chances.

The Foundation works closely with teachers and families to support and encourage young people to get involved. The aim is to make a difference to young people’s lives and to show that sport is for everyone.

Manchester Vision is a not for profit project that looks to highlight the good work taking place in the Manchester city-region, work  that is focused on creating positive change. Project director Mike Todd explains why the Diane Modahl Sports Foundation was chosen to feature in the latest film:

“With the big focus on the Olympics at the moment, we felt it was appropriate for us to feature a project that shows the real difference access to quality sporting opportunities can make in people’s lives. The excellent work that Diane and the Foundation are doing is a real inspiration.”

The new film can be viewed on the website for the Manchester Vision project www.manchestervision.tv.
The Diane Modahl Sports Foundation will be holding a major fundraising event - Road to Gold - on Tuesday 7 August, 6 - 11pm. This will be the second in the series of exciting Olympic Inspiration events designed to engage businesses with unique insights from the world's sporting elite.
