Proteintech Group wants to EAT YOUR BRAINS

Not really – but they would like you to join them at The Black Lion on Tuesday 1st November from 6pm for an evening of zombie movie fun in order to help raise money for the Brain Research Trust.

Manchester Science Park based Proteintech Group, creators of high quality antibodies for human proteins, has chosen The Brain Research Trust as its official company charity and is launching a series of fundraising efforts with a zombie themed evening at recently re-opened Salford pub, The Black Lion.

Libby Witherden, European Business Development Manager at Proteintech Group commented: “The antibodies we create are used in the type of research into neurological conditions that the Brain Research Trust supports and it was this natural affinity between our work which led to us choosing the organisation as our company charity.

“We wanted to launch a programme of fundraising events with something fun based on a  ‘brains’ theme – and who loves brains better than zombies?

“Obviously this is all tongue in cheek but we hope that people will join us to watch some excellent films, take part in our ‘Could you survive a zombie attack’ quiz and enjoy some food and drink at the fantastic Black Lion pub so we can raise as much as possible for the Brain Research Trust.”

Giles Witcomb, Head of High Value Fundraising at the Brain Research Trust, added: “Proteintech Group and the Brain Research Trust are providing both the funds and resources to further ground-breaking research into neurological conditions which affect one in six people in the UK.  This event is an ideal way to have fun and whilst raising vital funds for life saving research."

The evening will begin at 6pm with a free Zombie cocktail on arrival for all guests, followed by showings of Day of the Dead and Zombieland and the zombie survival quiz. The first 20 guests to arrive will also receive a free ‘Zombie Survival Kit’ goody bag with essential kits and advice on surviving a zombie outbreak.
The Black Lion recently reopened as a pub, café meeting place and as an arts co-op, cinema and live venue upstairs.

Tickets for the event are £6.00 and can be bought here http://ilovebrains.eventbrite.com/ or you can email Proteintech on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to reserve a place and pay on the door.

All money raised goes directly to the Brain Research Trust.

Ends.

About Proteintech:
Proteintech Group was established by experienced research scientists aiming to provide their fellow research community with superior antibodies and first-class customer service. In essence, we strive to be a better antibody company. To continually achieve and uphold these goals, we employ the following approaches; we make every single antibody that we sell, giving us complete control over production, quality, validation and distribution. As part of our production process, many of our antibodies are raised against whole protein antigens, producing all-purpose antibodies that recognize your protein of interest in any application: one antibody for all your experiments. Finally, we promise all of our customers a guaranteed refund if you are not satisfied with any of our antibodies in any of the applications you try. This, along with our high standard of continuing support, forms the basis of our customer service ethos. We are not satisfied unless you are; your success is our success.
