The representatives, from the UK’s diplomatic missions in Asia-Pacific, South Asia, Australasia, South America, Europe and Scandinavian countries, will visit Manchester Science Parks, Daresbury Science & Innovation Campus, Media City, Unilever, the University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University.

The tour will culminate in a ‘Meet the players’ event on 11th March, where local businesses have the opportunity to engage with the delegation.

Jane Davies, chief executive of Manchester Science Parks, said of the visit: “We are proud to be singled out as one of the organisations exemplifying UK excellence in innovation; Manchester has a lot to offer international companies looking to expand or relocate into the UK markets.

“The fact that UKTI has chosen to send its international officers to explore the North West is testament to the region’s continually improving global reputation as one of the top places to live and work, and we welcome the opportunity to demonstrate this.”

Inward investment officers work to generate foreign direct investment, by promoting to prospective investors UK excellence in innovative & high technology sectors and the UK as a place to do business.

Science & Innovation officers are scientifically literate staff in UK diplomatic missions working to inform and influence science & innovation policy and promote 'best with best' international collaboration with UK industry and academia.

There are still some places available at the ‘Meet the players’ event on the morning of Friday 11th March. If you are interested in attending, please e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it before midday Thursday 10th March.
